Surface Water Management
Critical Elements of Success
-
Lake water maintains the appropriate quality as measured monthly and reported by the Pond Watch Committee.
-
Lakes drain and filter effectively into the Preserve area and from there into Matlacha Pass.
-
Lake shorelines are maintained and effective erosion control is in place.
-
Preserves are relatively free of invasives, maintained within the area designated as preserves, and with native vegetation protected according to our SWFMD permit.
-
Surface water drainage is effectively managed via culverts, swales, ditches and other strategies that are maintained and kept clear.
-
The Community is well-educated on their responsibilities relative to maintaining an effective surface water management strategy.
